Dr. Sarah Verdoia

High School Assistant Principal

HS Assistant Principal, Curriculum & Assessment

Sarah is thrilled to serve our school community as the High School Assistant Principal, Curriculum & Assessment. She joined DAA in 2019 with her daughter, who is currently in Grade 12. Previously, she had the privilege of serving as the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, as well as leading the Modern Foreign Languages department while teaching French across all grade levels and Theory of Knowledge.

Born and raised in France, Sarah studied humanities at La Sorbonne and holds a PhD in applied and general linguistics, a Master’s degree in teaching French as a foreign or second language, and a Bachelor’s degree in French language and literature. She began her career in Sweden as a French and Spanish teacher, later teaching linguistics at La Sorbonne in Paris and French at the American University in Dubai.

Sarah is an active member of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network (IBEN), contributing to the creation, development and marking of IB assessments. She is also engaged with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as both an author and a publication reviewer, reflecting her educational interests in student agency, collaborative learning, and mindful assessment.

Deeply committed to the DAA mission, which is “to create and empower leaders and independent thinkers with integrity, character, and drive,” Sarah is honored to continue nurturing our students’ personal growth, fostering international-mindedness, and promoting academic excellence.

Beside her passion for student success, she enjoys the seaside, playing the piano, working out at the gym, and seeking out cold destinations during the summer.
