Athletic Excellence

At Dubai American Academy there is a strong emphasis on developing a lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and on acquiring team skills to learn and compete co-operatively with others. Dubai American Academy offers its students a variety of sports catering for the different talents within the student population.

The year is broken down into three activity seasons (Fall, Winter and Spring), each providing a range of opportunities for our students. All sports and activities are provided with skilled, experienced and passionate coaches to help our students reach their personal best in whatever activity they choose. Our athletes compete locally against other international schools in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi regions. Additionally, all Junior Varsity and Varsity teams travel to the Middle East South Asia Conference (MESAC) which is an international conference comprising of six leading schools in the UAE, Qatar, Oman and India.

Junior Emirates Athletics Conference (Jr.EAC) (Grades 4-5)

DAA participates in an athletic league with 7 other schools from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.  This is offered to all girls and boys in grades 4 and 5 and is open to any student whatever their level of ability.  The sports offered are as follows:

Season 1: Soccer

Season 2: Track and Field

Season 3: Basketball

NOTE: In 2019-2020, DAA will offer these sports to students in Grades 2 & 3 as well.

Emirates Athletic Conference (EAC) (Grades 6 - 8)

Students can try out for U14 Athletic teams, which participate in the EAC (Emirates Athletic Conference, whose member schools include 7 other schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi).

Students who are not selected for the U14 teams are able to develop their skills in our Development League for the following sports:  Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer and Badminton.

Middle School South Asia Conference (MESAC) (Grades 9 - 12)

Our Junior Varsity and Varsity Athletics and Activities teams also compete in the EAC.

Athletes are further selected to compete in MESAC (Middle East South Asia Conference), of which DAA is a proud member. MESAC Competitions provide amazing experiences for our students, as they travel and compete as a team for DAA. DAA is a very competitive school within EAC and MESAC, and we highly value and recognize our players and coaches for their accomplishments at this level.

The Athletics and Activities for each season are as follows:
