Admission Policy

Dubai American Academy enrolls students regardless of sex, nationality or race, who demonstrate an ability and willingness to participate in an all-encompassing American-international environment. Dubai American Academy follows an enriched American curriculum taught by a licensed qualified staff, who teach to high academic standards and attend to the social needs of your child. Admission testing may be required of students for entrance and grade placement. However, the school is unable to admit students who require special needs programs or demonstrate behavioral problems that disrupt learning of self or others.

Application Timeline

1st week December 2008 

Begin accepting applications for the Academic Year  2009-2010.

January - June 2009

Applications reviewed by Admittance Committee

February – March 2009

PKG & KG1 group assessments for prospective students. 

March 2009 

Re-Enrollment of current  DAA students to determine seat availability for 2009-2010.

April – September 2009 

Prospective students assessed for placement.  Acceptance letters sent to parents based on the availability of seats within each grade.

** All applications received by post, email, fax will be sent an email acknowledging the receipt of the application within one week.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

  • Students who have not completed a full year of a given grade by the fall entrance date will be required to re-enroll in the same grade level.
     
  • The Admissions Committee will only review completed applications packages with the required support documentation in English, which includes the AED600 application fee payment.
     
  • Admission assessment may be required of any student prior to acceptance into the school.  Parents will be notified by phone, fax or email when an admission assessment is required.
     
  • DAA does not provide English Support for Speakers of other Languages (ELL) for High School students in grades 9-12.  Minimal support is offered for Middle School students in grades 6-8.
