DAA High School Students Take Top Honors in French
Students from Dubai American Academy grade 11 and 12 HS French department were awarded the highest awards available to high school students after sitting the DELF B1 and B2 exams. The DELF Award Ceremony was held on October 18, 2011 in the Alliance Francaise. During a special assembly at DAA on October 23, Ms. Cecile Real, Attachée du bureau de cooperation pour le Francais, Ambassade de France, kindly came to DAA and gave diplomas to students who successfully passed the French exams. Students who received the DELF B1 diploma are: Priyanka Bijlani, Priscilla Carmini, Saman Baban, Sara Sharif Abdulla Sultan Alulama, Tatiana Sidawi, Mauricio Gutierrez and Karnpreet Kocchar.
The DELF B2 diploma allows students to enter French Universities without having to pass an aptitude test for French, and it gives university credits to students who study in non-French universities. The DAA students passing the DELF B2 exam are: Chloe Hachez, Hanahn Khan and Yida Wang.
Dubai American Academy is extremely proud of these students for accomplishing such a milestone in their education. DAA HS French teachers Brigitte Roshay and Dominique Daghestani encourage all students to join the French speaking community. The next examination will be held in April 2012 with applications to sit the exam opening in January. |
