Dubai American Academy, as a GEMS Education school, continuously pursues excellence in all areas of the school environment, including student involvement and pupil guidance.
It is the responsibility of the school to offer students an opportunity to develop new skills. To meet this responsibility, Dubai American Academy has a Student Council.
The Student Council puts students in a position of leadership amongst their peers, where they are responsible for communicating the needs and wants of their fellow students in their monthly meeting with the Principal.
The period of election is 1 academic year. Students are elected and voted for by their peers.
Careers education and guidance is a key element of the school's Personal and Social Health and Careers Education (PSHCE) program. It aims to develop the skills of young people so that they are able to make informed decisions about their life.
Students have access to the school Careers Library that contains a wide variety of printed and electronic media. The guidance process continues as students choose courses for their US High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
Students will be provided with a flow of information about a wide variety of career opportunities, complemented with a work experience placement in Year 10.
As a GEMS Education US/IB curriculum school of preference in Dubai, Dubai American Academy is dedicated to educating and inspiring innovators. To find out more about student support services, please call 04 347 9222.
