There are two School Health Offices at Dubai American Academy; one is located in the Primary/Elementary School building and the other is located in the Middle/High School building.
Dubai American Academy also has a full time physician who supports both offices on campus. Their responsibilities include administering first aid and treating minor ailments that occur during school hours, promoting health education, providing vaccination and medical information to maintain current records, and liaising with the Dubai Health Authority.
All new students are REQUIRED to submit a Health Information form and a Consent form, along with an up-to-date copy of your child’s immunization record, prior to your child’s start date. These MUST be completed and submitted to the Registrar or Health Office before your child’s first day of school. Kindly confirm with the health office any special medical concerns, conditions, allergies, as well as, any medication your child may be taking.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) requires that these completed forms be kept on file to enable us to care for your child effectively. The DHA also requires that all students in both private and public schools attending Grades 1, 5, 9 and 12, and students new to Dubai schools, undergo a school medical examination. This includes a basic head to toe assessment, height and weight measurements, plus distance and color vision checks. These school medicals will be conducted throughout the year by our licensed school doctor. Should you wish to arrange an examination with your own private physician, a written report must be provided to the school Health Office.
